Foundwell Academy
Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Foundwell Academy (“Foundwell Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you use our website and online courses (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Creating an account is optional and free. You can watch our course videos without one. If you create an account, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable text.
Learning activity. When you are signed in, we record your course progress, including your position in each video and the chapters you have completed, your quiz scores, the number, name and date of any certificate you earn, and when you joined and were last active.
Information stored in your browser. The Site saves your course progress and quiz scores in your browser’s local storage so it can remember where you left off on that device, even without an account.
Technical information. Our own systems do not record your IP address. Like most websites, however, our hosting provider and our font provider (Google Fonts) may automatically receive standard technical information when your browser loads the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- create and manage your account and let you sign in;
- save your progress and let you continue where you left off, including on other devices when you sign in;
- record quiz results and issue certificates of completion;
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our courses;
- respond to your questions and requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
3. Emails from us
We may send you emails related to your account or our courses. Marketing emails will include a way to unsubscribe.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to save your progress. When you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 400 days, or until you sign out. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time; if you do, you may be signed out and progress saved only on that device may be lost.
5. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these limited cases:
- Within Foundwell Academy. Our administrator can see learners’ names, email addresses, join and last-active dates, course progress, quiz scores, and certificates, and can export this information, to run our courses and issue certificates. The people who maintain the Site for us can also access this data when needed to operate or fix it. When you create an account, the Site sends our administrator an email notification with your name and email address.
- Service providers. We use a third-party hosting provider to store and serve the Site, its videos and its data, and Google Fonts to display the Site’s fonts. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of our learners, the public, or us.
- Business changes. If Foundwell Academy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your account information and learning activity for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your account record, including your progress, quiz scores and certificate record, and sign you out of all devices. Copies may remain in our hosting provider’s routine backups for a limited time before they are overwritten. If your account is inactive for 2 years, we may delete it and its associated information. We may keep limited information longer where the law requires it, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
7. How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to learner data limited to our administrator and the people who maintain the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.
8. Your rights and choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@foundwellacademy.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These may include the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to receive a copy of your information in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information to provide the service you signed up for, based on our legitimate interests in running and improving our courses, and with your consent where required. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. International users
The Site is operated from the United States, and your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice, such as a banner on the Site or an email to account holders. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
